Las Galletas Capital
del Buceo
El Ayuntamiento de Arona lanza la
campaña "Las Galletas Capital del Buceo" en colaboración con
Ecologistas en Acción de Tenerife.

El Ayuntamiento de Arona ha lanzado la nueva campaña informativa
del proyecto "Las Galletas, Capital del Buceo", en
colaboración con la Subdelegación del Gobierno en Santa Cruz de
Tenerife y la asociación Ecologistas en Acción de Tenerife.
El objetivo del proyecto es convertir a
Las Galletas en una referencia importante en el mundo del buceo
recreativo y contribuir al desarrollo socioeconómico
del municipio mediante el desarrollo de estas actividades
sostenibles.
El
concejal de Medio Ambiente, Antonio Sosa, destacó la importancia
de potenciar el litoral de Las Galletas como un área marina
idónea para la practica de este deporte.
El
proyecto ha sido presentado al subdelegado del Gobierno en la
provincia, José Antonio Batista, y también a los representantes
del Servicio Estatal de Inspección Pesquera y Guardia Civil.
Arona ha propuesto también la protección de áreas marinas
limítrofes al municipio para potenciar el buceo en la zona.
Antonio Sosa comentó que el cumplimiento de la legalidad en
materia pesquera "no va contra nadie, sino a favor de todos", y
que la mejora de la biodiversidad marina es ahora una prioridad,
si queremos que el sector pesquero mejore su situación actual y
que el turista de buceo que recibimos esté contento con su
estancia en el municipio de Arona".

Arona City Council has launched a new information campaign of the
project "Las Galletas, Diving Capital" in
collaboration with central government representatives in Santa
Cruz de Tenerife and the association Ecologists in Action
Tenerife.
The project's goal is to turn Las Galletas
on an important benchmark in the world of recreational diving and
contribute to the socioeconomic development of the municipality by
the development of these activities sustainable.
Environment Councilman, Antonio Sosa, stressed the importance of
strengthening the coast of Las
Galletas and a marine area suitable for practicing this sport.
The project has been submitted to the government sub-delegate in
the province, José Antonio Batista, and also representatives from
the State Fish Inspection and Civil Guard.
Arona has also proposed the protection of marine areas adjacent to
the town to promote diving in the area. Antonio Sosa said that
compliance with the law on fisheries "is not against anyone, but
for all" and that the improvement of marine biodiversity is now a
priority, if we want the fishing industry to improve its current
situation and diving tourists get to be happy with their stay in
the municipality of Arona.
